Today is national grilled cheese day. With that said I would like to post a dessert (or breakfast) grilled cheese recipe that sounds perfectly yummy as I swirl it around in my head. While reading through some other blogs celebrating this big day, I gleaned some ingredients from these other recipes and modified this “grilled cheese.”
Nutella and Strawberry Grilled Cheese
Take 4 slices of sourdough bread or any bread you prefer. Spread two slices of the bread with Nutealla. Spread the other two slices with whipped or softened cream cheese. Spread strawberry jam on the cream cheese sides and then slice some fresh strawberries over the jam. Put the Nutella and cream cheese sides together. Melt about one tablespoon of butter in a large fry pan, add the two sandwiches to the pan. Grill until light golden brown on each side. Don’t cook the grilled cheese on too high of heat! Remember: slow and low. When done, sprinkle with powdered sugar. Cut sandwiches in half. And my suggestion would be to pour two tall glasses of cold milk. Yum.
